Gift Card Selling Policy
The rules that apply every time you sell a gift card to Cardwin.
Effective 1 October 2026. Questions about this page? Contact support.
What we buy
We buy gift cards from the gift card types and categories listed on Cards you can sell. A category is a specific product, such as USA Amazon E-Code or iTunes 100–500. Some categories are listed but not yet being bought. They appear with no rate and can't be sold until a rate is set. Availability and rates change over time.
Before you submit
- Choose the exact category that matches your card, including its region, whether it is physical or an e-code, and its value range.
- Check the card has not been used and that the balance is at least the value you enter.
- For an e-code, enter the code (and PIN if it has one) exactly, or upload clear photos. For a physical card, upload clear photos of the card and add the receipt if you have it. You can add several photos.
- Pick the wallet currency you want to be paid in.
How rates work
Each category has one rate: the Naira paid for each 1 unit of the card's own currency. If you choose a different wallet currency, the amount is converted using Cardwin's current exchange numbers and rounded down. You see the final amount before you submit. Your rate is locked at submission and does not change while we verify your card.
Verification
Every card is checked before any money moves. We confirm the code or card is valid, unused and holds the balance you stated. We may ask for further information, like a clearer photo, a receipt or proof of purchase, and you will see “Action needed” on your transaction page and in an email. Reply there within 7 days or the sale is closed.
If the card is different from what you selected
If the card is valid but is a different category or value, we pay the current rate for the card we actually received, into the same wallet. If we can't accept it at all, the sale is rejected with the reason shown and nothing is credited.
Why a card may be rejected
- The code is invalid, already redeemed, or the balance is lower than stated.
- The card is for a different region than the one selected and can't be used as described.
- The photos are unreadable and no better ones are provided.
- We suspect the card was obtained fraudulently, or it was submitted more than once.
- The card has been blocked or cancelled by its issuer.
Ownership and honesty
You confirm that you own the card, that you are entitled to sell it and that every detail you give us is accurate. Repeated invalid submissions or attempts to deceive us can lead to an account review, held funds and closure. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
Getting paid
Approved sales are credited to the wallet in the currency you chose. You can then withdraw to a payout account in that currency. See the Terms of Service for withdrawal rules.
